I know I'm behind but I'm finally home from vacation and eager to get some of my most recent photo sessions up on the blog! A few weeks ago my daughter and I packed our bags and headed off to sunny Arizona to see my sister and her family. I was able to capture several families behind my lens while on vacation which made the trip that much more memorable. I am based out of Washington State but being a photographer allows me to do what I love from anywhere. I look forward to more "destination" shoots in the future. To start it off I got to meet up with a dear friend of mine from high school who now resides in Arizona with her son Parker. We chose to meet at Christ's Church of the Valley which was recommended by my sister! What a location! This church is incredible. You can't really explain it until you go see it but it is a huge complex that is filled with beautiful landscapes, structures, and music. A few years ago I went to a service with my sister and her family and loved the whole experience.
True friendship isn't about being inseparable, it's being separated and nothing changes.
This couldn't ring more true than my relationship with miss Ali Smith. Ali is one of those people you meet and instantly feel connected to. She's friendly, warm, beautiful, and one of the most hard working women I know. Ali had her son Parker when we were in high school together and over the years I've watched her raise an incredible young man all while putting herself through college and chasing her dreams. She has always been a woman I look up to and admire. Her strength and courage has always given me inspiration on my own journey into finding myself and becoming a mother. I'm so proud of the person she is and continues to be. A little fun fact as well about my relationship with Ali...we share not only the same last name (my now maiden name of Smith) but we also share the same birthday! Our 28th is coming up at the end of the month and we always connect with each other to wish each other a happy birthday!
They walked toward me and I knew this was going to be great.
I love, love, love when my clients dress to impress for their photo sessions! Honestly, your photographs are an investment and should be treated with the upmost attention to detail with it comes to your wardrobe. I always urge my clients to wear clothing that makes them feel beautiful. Ali and Parker walked toward me and instantly I knew that this session was going to be great. They looked SO perfect together for their mama and son session with me. Seeing Ali (and Parker!) always makes me so happy and I feel so blessed to have had the chance to not only see them both, but to capture some everlasting memories that they will hopefully cherish for the rest of time.
I don't normally bring my daughter along on photo sessions but this was a little different since Ali and I are such good friends and I was on vacation! Ali really wanted to meet Riley so it worked out perfectly to bring her along on our session. Last time I was in Arizona (and the last time I saw Ali) I had JUST found out I was pregnant with this little one. It's pretty crazy how quickly time goes by.
Until next time, my friend.
Ali and Parker, thank you so much for sharing your evening with me in sunny Arizona! It is truly a blessing that I can go on vacation and also share my love of photography with my clients. I look forward to the next time I get to see you both. Keep it up mama, you are an inspiration and I love you so much!
