When I first met the Moncy family, it was 2015 and before I really knew what I was doing with my camera and style. Don't get me wrong, I love their first set of family pictures and they are still some of my favorites but in one year I have grown tremendously as a photographer. It was so fun to get the call from Kathleen and Shane wanting me to capture their family again and this time incorporate the newest addition joining their family this winter! I absolutely love this family and grateful to them for believing in me and my work to document such special moments in their life.
They didn't need my help with what to wear to family photos, that's for sure!
Everything about this session just gives me all the happy feels, including wardrobe selections that were made! The colors were just perfect at the pumpkin patch and then for the second portion on our private property. Kathleen and her family own a local business where we buy oysters all the time! She and I have a lot in common and I look forward to continuing to get to know her and her amazing family. I've already become good friends with one of her sisters, Nancy, who owns a local cafe and floral company! We work together on various projects. I've loved getting to know their entire family and look forward to continuing to grow those relationships. The community of South Bend has been so welcoming to me since moving here just over a year ago. I'm grateful to have crossed paths with people like the Moncy family because moving to a new town is scary and challenging, but they make me feel like I've lived here all my life.
I think pumpkin patch sessions might just be my new favorite!
Okay, I take that back a little bit because I'm pretty obsessed with shooting my sessions on our private property at Rose Ranch, but their session made me fall in love with pumpkin patches! For the first part of their session we went to Chapman Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze just outside of Montesano, Washington. My Husband has fond memories of this place as a child and picking out his own pumpkins so it was fun for me to go explore and see it for myself. Halloween fell at a tough time for us this year with a trip to Mexico so Riley didn't get to go to a pumpkin patch but I will definitely be taking her next year!
Without further ado, enjoy these images of the Moncy family! These are definitely some of my favorite images I've ever captured and now I cannot wait for the newest member of the family to make join us soon! I'm overdue for some newborn baby snuggles. Moncy Family, thank you for being so incredible and fun to not only work with but get to know. I look forward to making many more memories with you all in the future!
