Have I ever told you how much I love Elixir Cafe and Floral Design here in our little town? Well, if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you have seen my stories and posts about my weekly visits to the shop. The owner is named Nancy. She's also a florist and she's also insanely talented. Nancy and I started talking almost immediately after I moved to South Bend. She was one of the first people to make me feel welcome. My first impressions were that she was very similar to me in regards to having that entrepreneur mindset and spirit. I could tell right away that she was passionate and does what she does with heart and integrity.
Our relationship began with a simple styled shoot.
I reached out to Nancy over a year ago in hopes that she would help out with some florals for a styled shoot I was putting together. They were stunning you guys. I sent her my vision/ideas and she came up with pure magic. Regretfully, at that time I didn't really know what I was doing. I loved the pictures but when it came to planning and executing a styled shoot, I was flying by the seat of my pants. Hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? So I did just that and I learned a lot about what putting together a shoot really entails. All I know is that it was a great experience and fueled the fire to continue putting together shoots.
Nancy and I are in the midst of so many exciting projects right now - including her updated head shots and stock for her new website launching this year!
Part of our collaboration involves equipping Nancy with a brand new website to help her take her business even further. If you happen to drive through our little sleepy town some time down Highway 101, be sure to stop by her shop! There you will find delicious coffee and tea as well as home baked goodies, breakfast and lunch items. I love what she has done there and continues to do for her community. Nancy is passionate about growing her floral business and I truly believe she is going to go places she doesn't even see coming. Like me, she doesn't stop chasing her dreams. She doesn't lose sight of what's important and what keeps her going on this journey. We have established a bond that I know is only going to continue to grow and thrive as we continue to work together. Sometimes you just meet people in this life that you just feel like you were meant to meet. She's that person for me. Being a creative entrepreneur can be lonely at times but friendships like the one I have with Nancy are so special because not only is she a new friend, but she gets it when others just don't because they aren't in our industry. I have so much love and support on this journey but there is nothing like a good conversation with a fellow creative who can really connect with you on a different level.
Nancy volunteered to break in my new office/studio space here in South Bend with her session!
We started downstairs to capture a few details of some items from her shop like their amazing scones, tea, and coffee. One of my passion projects has always been styling images. Nancy's session was fun because for once I got to do it for someone else other than myself! I incorporated some items from my little "grab box" and it all just came together beautifully. After the styled shots we went upstairs to my office which will now be used as a studio also! I dream of my someday studio that will be extra large with plenty of room to design/decorate/style/have my office space, etc. but for now I needed to find a space in my home with great space to move and awesome natural light. After moving my office for the third time, it finally found it's home up in our loft that allows me to do everything I need to do from home! Living here in South Bend, Washington we are often faced with nasty weather. It's my goal with this space to always have a Plan B if necessary. Since I have clients who drive many miles for their session with me, it's important to know that I'm covered. While it's not huge, it does the job and I couldn't be more thrilled with the new set up. Nancy proved to me that it can work and it can work really well! After we wrapped up in my house we parted ways for a few hours so Riley could nap before we went out to her new house just a few miles out of town! We had hopes of walking along the beach but the tide was up too high so we played around in the road a little bit. I'm just over the moon with every single image we captured today and what's even more fun is that I get to use all these images to build her new WEBSITE that will be launching later this year! Stay tuned for that! It's going to be... amazing. Okay, are you tired of me talking yet? Okay, let's get to the pictures! I hope you love these as much as I do! I'd love to hear from you in the comments below! Also be sure to check out the video link at the bottom!

Hello, beautiful visitor! My name is Emma and I am so pleased to have you here. Some time ago, I left the security of a career in accounting to risk it all on a dream of working for myself... And I’ve never looked back.
Emma Rose Company was launched as a non-traditional approach to helping others tell their own stories in new and memorable ways: whether that means developing a brand package for a new business concept or building a plan to help you document your special day.
More than anything else, I want to be here to support the grand adventure that is you. It’s so nice to meet you; let’s get started.
