When Madison contacted me about engagement pictures I got so excited. For one, as I really find my niche and passion with my photography it is working with couples and families. Engagement sessions are quickly becoming my favorite because it's just the three of us hanging out, getting to know one another, and capturing true and raw moments together. I got even more excited when I saw Madison because she is not only beautiful, but so sweet and fun! I instantly hit it off with these two and knew it was going to be an amazing session. This outdoor engagement session was located at Jared's parents house on their property. As many of you know, I love open fields. I love greenery, grass, trees and pastures. It's become my thing since moving here to Southwest Washington. Looking around I couldn't even contain my excitement, and then I saw Madison's outfit. Yep, this was going to be perfect!
Your choice of wardrobe is so important for a session.
I don't want to come across as telling you how to dress, but at the same time the choice of wardrobe plays a huge factor in the outcome of your images! I stress to my clients the importance of dress your best because in the end you will be so grateful you took the time to really plan out your wardrobe, wear something that makes you feel beautiful, and that will look good on camera. Awesome inspiration can come from Pinterest if you are feeling uninspired. When clients are unsure where to start I always recommend putting one person (mom or little girl) in some sort of soft colored floral dress or shirt and playing off that pattern for the other outfits. In my personal opinion, soft colors photograph much better than harsh colors. Pastels are amazing, and white, of course. With that being said, you don't want to all show up wearing white or feel like you have to match perfectly, because variation is wonderful! Have fun and like I said, find an outfit that makes you feel your best.
