I'll never forget my first phone call with Sarah to discuss the possibility of me being her and Andy's wedding photographer. Andy wasn't there for the phone call, but Sarah's sister was! We had a wonderful conversation and I just had a feeling after our phone call that they would move forward with booking me! I heard from Sarah shortly after our call ready to move forward and make it official!
Then it was time to plan the engagement session and we picked Pioneer Park in Olympia, Washington!
Sarah and Andy got out of their car, we said our hellos and immediately I just KNEW we were going to have an amazing session! Sarah took all my tips when it came to styling her session! I send all my clients a Style Guide which is packed with all my tips and tricks to make our time together the most successful! I can't tell you how much amazing feedback I get from these guides! My clients love it and so do I! Sarah and Andy told me that they love to laugh together, that just melted my heart. I truly believe that you should laugh with the person you love and let me tell you... I could FEEL their love! These two are the real deal and I cannot wait for their upcoming wedding in September!
We explored Pioneer Park in Olympia which looked a whole lot different since the last time I was there for a family session! It was much more green and lush this time around! The green used to throw me off around here in the Pacific Northwest but I've learned to embrace it and love it! Pioneer Park is so beautiful. Sarah and Andy were so easy going and fun to photograph! They took all my directions beautifully and were so comfortable in front of my camera. Engagement sessions are extremely important (in my opinion) when it comes to working with a wedding photographer! There are about 100 reasons why I believe they are so important but here are the main reasons:
1. It helps you understand how your photographer works behind the camera!
2. It helps build your relationship with your photographer before the big day which = you more relaxed and comfortable on your wedding day!
3. You will have the chance to see what you do or don't love about your pictures before the big day. Maybe you didn't like a certain pose or loved one that you most definitely want to do again on the day of.
4. You can treat it like a wedding day pre-run. What do I mean? Go pro! Get your hair and makeup done so you can see what it will look like on your wedding day with your photographer. This is a great way to say yay or nay to any of those specifics.
Pioneer Park was the perfect setting for this engagement session in Olympia Washington and Sarah and Andy are just the cutest! I loved their personalities and loved how much they truly care for one another. Sometimes you just get "that feeling" with people and they gave me that feeling! Congratulations you two, I cannot wait for September!
